Center for Journalism Ethics
As director of the Center for Journalism Ethics at UW-Madison, I participate in efforts to foster discussion of journalistic practice and work toward the highest standards of serving the public with integrity. Founded in 2008, the center holds a national conference each spring, focusing in 2017 on Truth, Trust and the Future of Journalism.
My specific responsibilities for the center have included:
- the digital presence for the annual conferences, including overseeing a student social media team and streaming and archived video
- writing for its website, including recent pieces on covering transgender issues and year-end ethics wrap-ups
- establishing a student fellows program to bring undergraduate and graduate students into the work of the center
- fundraising and donor relations
